Birthday gift of the cabinet [to the First Lady] was [were] the four Task Forces to Bulacan, Bicol, Sapang Palay and Carmona of relief goods.
Imelda accompanied the trucks to Valenzuela, Bocaue, Bigaa, Guiguinto, Marilao, Malolos, Plaridel, Baliwag and San Rafael where we took lunch at about 3:00 PM.
She and I rode with the other ladies in the air-conditioned bus of [Sarkies] which took the people we passed by surprise. They gaped in amazement when they discovered we were in the bus and not in the cars. They would shriek stridently and point in excitement.
Warm reception everywhere.
The mayor would welcome us and she would explain that she wanted to share his [her] birthday with the people and had brought the relief goods for them.
Applause everywhere. I am sure this is going to be interpreted as political campaigning.
Came back ahead by car at 3:40. Arrived at 5:05 PM. Slept all the way.
