Stayed in Talaga Bay with Irene although I slept up to 2:00 PM from 9:00 AM after waking up at 6:30 AM. I was too tired and heavy from the paregoric I took.
Taught Irene to ski at about 4:30 PM. Not too cold but water rough even in the next bay.
Ammonia and sodium bicarb effective against jellyfish and Portuguese man-o-war which were hitting us in the waters of Talaga.
Arrived in the palace about 9:20 PM. Tried out the musical fountain, inspected the new Heroes Hall (Bulwagan ng Mga Bayani) and the new PGB [Presidential Guard Battalion] uniform.
I am alone as the three girls are preparing a missive for tomorrow’s celebration of our 19th year wedded life—18th anniversary.
Irene has given me a woodcut of two fishes made some time ago. It is his [sic] going away and anniversary gift. I attach it.
