My very dear Friend,
I have the pleasure of sending you two numbers of the España Oriental and the number of Manililla which contains a very ridiculous attack on me, an attack which only proves the suicidal sacrosancta simplicitas[1] of our adversaries — barking dogs. I request you to return them to me after having shown them to Messrs. Pardo de Tavera and Luna. El Porvenir de Visayas has also reprinted my article Antiquioquiapado more freely than España Oriental. I received the first pages of the Tagalog dictionary of our dear friend Serrano.
