Dearest,
Pardon me for answering only now your dear letter of the 19th and with such few lines. I have worked very diligently on my Memoir of which I have already finished the following chapters: 1. Historical introduction; 2. Filibusterismo; 3. Nativismo Peninsular; 4. Quioquiapismo; 5. Defects of the Government — censorship, judicial banishment, ignorant officials; 6. Immorality, dismissal of employees, gobernadorcillos, heads of barangay; 7. The friar — the historical development of his power; 8. Are the friars really the support of Spain?
With regard to the Jesuit books, I shall send you one of which I have two copies. I am very much disturbed by Dr. Viola’s long silence. Greet on my behalf Luna, Pardo de Tavera, and R. Hidalgo. Czepelack greets you many times.
With cordial greetings from all,
Yours faithfully,
F. Blumentritt
