Berlin
Berlin, 7 February 1887
Esteemed Friend,
I thank you for having sent me the issues of Globus. I found them very interesting and I beg you to let me keep them for a few days for the perusal of the articles. I’m so busy now that I could only read the first pages. Daily I go to the clinic to do research.
I’ll give you good news: Deputy La Guardia recently presented three proposals to the Congress pleading for representatives for the Philippines. I have already written him expressing my gratitude.
I’m very sorry that you are not yet well. Here the weather has improved. My health has also improved, but I still take arsenic.
I have already been admitted to the Anthropological Society. At the Geographic Society I was nominated as fellow. Last Saturday we had our regular meeting, but only few fellows came. The president, Mr. W. Reiss, Messrs. Jagor, Virchow, and others, among those I know, were absent, so that I had to leave after the meeting.
I wish you complete recovery. It is said here that the cold season is over. May it be true!
Greetings.
Most affectionately yours,
Rizal
