Uneventful day. Played golf and spent the whole morning at the swimming pool—for once diving from the 3 meter high diving board and soaking in the sun.
Light lunch. Slept all afternoon.
Met Bongbong in the KLM [Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij – Royal Dutch Airlines] plane at 7:45 PM. He has grown taller and harder muscled.
Dinner for the American Survey Mission at the Maharlika.
Raines, Chairman of the American Society of Manufacturers, informed me they are now perfecting a car on the principle of magnetic levitation. No moving parts, no pollution, no power except the electric energy needed to create the magnetic field.
In my toast I assured them of welcome to foreign investments within the rules.
And challenged them to a partnership of innovation.
But the Americans are showing interest only because of the flow of other nations investment into the Philippines.
