Imelda and I are happy in Baguio. It has been a long time since we have really been together. We spend hours alone—hours of tenderness and love. I must see to it that we do it more often.

And she is lovelier than ever. She is blooming in the Baguio air. I can swear that she is much more beautiful now than when I married her.

I must put down in writing how lucky I am to have her as wife, partner and friend. For she has been a friend as well as wife to me.

I hope my son will find a woman like her to take as wife.

I have decided to write a book to be tentatively entitled “My Vision of a New Philippines.” We are preparing the materials. It would be an eloquent and understandable presentation of what I hope the Philippines would become and what I am doing to attain this vision.

This should galvanize the resources of the country and our people for our programs.

Golf up to 1:00 PM. Press conference. Shower, massage and lunch. Video tape of the election day speech. Worked with Sec. [Alejandro] Melchor [Jr.] and [Francisco] Kits Tatad on papers. Alex submitted his report on India and Moscow. Dinner with Mr. T.S. George of the Far Eastern Review. He wrote the book on Krisna Menon.

He only left his desk work a couple of times to meet with government officials, including local executives, who discussed with him matters affecting their respective agencies or constituencies. The President also had a brief informal meeting with newsmen covering his trip to the Pines City
