Won the lowest gross in the golf tournament at Fort Bonifacio with a 3 over par, although I am suffering from abdominal pains and loose bowel movement because of eating an apple on an empty stomach and durian in the morning notwithstanding the previous nights feeling of abdominal discomfort. Then this was exacerbated by a glass of orange juice and the milk in my corn flakes.

Severe bowel movement has made me feel feverish and tired.

Have just come from the new Japanese restaurant of Tito and Tessie [Teresita] Yulo which they will call Kimpura—in front of the Intercontinental Hotel. Overate sukiyaki, tempura and mizuno.

Am finalizing the arrangements for the immediate award of the areas of the applicants so drilling can start. If they do not drill in a year, they lose one half of the area. If they still do not drill in two years they lose the rest.

Enriquito and Rocio Zobel, notwithstanding all their money seem to be headed for a separation. And it is so sad and tragic.

Met the family of the late Francisco Lachica who help[ed] conceal me in Urdaneta in 1944 when the Japanese were looking for me. They were almost liquidated because of me as I escaped only a few hours before the Japanese ransacked their house.

Official Gazette for August 25, 1970: President Marcos concentrated on his paper work, with his schedule of visitors in the morning confined only to three callers, Sen. Arturo M. Tolentino, who took up legislative matters; and Chairman Ramon Gaviola of the Social Security Commission and Central Bank Gov. Gregorio S. Licaros, who discussed official business relating to the operation of these institutions.
The President acted on several matters of governmental concern, including the reconstitution of a number of state special bodies. In several executive and administrative orders, the President amended parts of previous similar orders to: 1. Name Bartolome Espino to the Cooperative Coordinating Committee; 2. Include the Central Bank Governor in the Foreign Trade Council; 3. Revise the Provincial Appraisal Committee by putting the provincial engineer in the place of the district engineer in the committee.
Through the afternoon and much of the evening, the President worked at his desk.
To speed up the rehabilitation of the Philippine General Hospital, the President directed Budget Commissioner Faustino Sy-Changco to release the full amount authorized for the PGH in the current appropriations act. The ₱9,591,631 appropriated for the said hospital in the 1970-1971 budget will be fully programmed, the President told the budget chief, and that the hospital outlay for the first quarter be released before the end of this month.
The action taken by the President was the result of a series of meetings Executive Secretary Alejandro Melchor, Jr. and Commissioner Sy-Changco have had with PGH staff and students, as well as the institutional workers of the hospital. The talks were held to find the means of solving once and for all the long standing PGH problems.
