At 3:15 in the afternoon, we arrived at Hong Kong.
[Manuel] Yriarte[1] with one Mr. Mitjans came to the boat. I lodged on the first floor of the Victoria Hotel.

[1] Manuel de Yriarte (1864-1930) a friend of Rizal, whose portrait as a young man was painted by Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo in Paris in 1885, was educated in Europe and upon his return to Manila later served as Director of the National Museum, and chief of protocol in Malacañang to American governors-general. As Palace Rigodon Master, he collapsed on the Malacañang dance floor and died the next day.
