MISS TRINIDAD RIZAL

MY DEAR SISTER TRINING,

I received your letter and I am informed of its contents. I have not forgotten what I have promised you. I am going to send you the black pearl as soon as I have someone who can bring it to you.

I would be glad if Father would come and sooner the better, for this will please him very much.[1] The house will satisfy him. This time the trees have borne many fruits. The lanzon tress are loaded with flowers as I have never seen before; the cacao trees are the same; the bauno, the mango, the nanca are adorned with flowers. My Sampaguita, the one that scarcely yielded three flowers a day, now one can pick from it sixty to seventy every morning.

The minced tobacco and the basin will be delivered to their respective owners.

Miss Bracken gratefully returns your regards. She was about to go back on this mail boat and take along the cabinet, but she had some trouble and she will go on the next boat.

Many regards to all, to Aunt Concha, Aunt Ticang, etc., etc.

Your brother who loves you,

RIZAL

Enclosed are ₱2 in stamps; let us see if they can be sold there.

[1] On account of old age his father never went to Dapitan.
