Jose Rizal

My Brother,

I received on time your esteemed letters and post card and I read them to my family. All are grateful to you and in unison, they say in chorus: “How good is Blumentritt and how much he likes you!”

My parents feel happy now; my mother can read and write again, and my father enjoys again on account of the warm weather!

The Noli will also be translated into English. It is very much sought and Englishmen believe that an English translation of it will be well received in England. Perhaps I may take a French translation also. The Tagalog translation is about to be finished.

I am grateful to Mrs. Labhart. Give her my sincerest thanks. If I should ever return to Europe, I will certainly visit her.

At this moment a caller has come who wishes to talk with me and the mail is leaving soon.

Greetings to the family. I shall continue this letter next time.

Yours,

Rizal
